Americans are still overwhelmingly missing out on one of the easiest ways to prevent cancer, heart disease and other big killers — eating enough fruits and vegetables. Only 12 percent of Americans eat the minimum amount of fruit recommended — a cup and a half to two cups a day, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found.
